Free Software Telephone

Free Software Telephone

You can make Internet telephone calls from your PC using the FREE soft phone which turns your PC into a fully featured telephone. All you need is a PC, loudspeakers and a microphone - or a headset - and a connection to the Internet.

How Much Does It Cost?

The software is free and it’s also free to call other Voipfone customers or customers on our partner networks. If you call an ordinary telephone or mobile, you will be charged at our standard, low rates.

You can find out how much these calls cost by using either the Call Cost Calculator or the Voipfone Calling rates boxes on the left of this page. If you choose one of our Inclusive Minutes Packages, calls to inclusive countries are charged at less than 1p per minute.

How Do I Use It?

Click here to sign-up for a Voipfone account. Fill in your details (Please provide accurate information otherwise your registration may not work), agree to our terms and conditions, and click on the Create Account button.

After a minute or so you’ll receive an email to the address that you gave us, containing a link to confirm your account and provide you with your new account details and password. Keep a note of these - or print them out - as you will need them during the installation of your soft phone.

After clicking on the FREE Software Download button choose either the Windows or Apple Mac download and follow the instructions in the Voipfone Set-Up Wizard.

If you have any problems during this process you’ll find FAQs here. If you still have problems don’t hesitate to contact us – we really want this to work for you.

Once the phone is successfully installed it’s ready to use. To confirm that all is working correctly, type 155 into the handset and press the green telephone icon.

Now you can start using the soft phone to call anybody anywhere!

Voipfone can seem very confusing at first, but don’t worry, this is quite normal and we are here to help! One of the great strengths of VoIP is that it can do so much more than an ordinary telephone network whilst costing an awful lot less. In practise Voipfone’s services can be as simple as making a telephone call or as complicated as using a large business switchboard in several countries but anything new takes a bit of getting used to so if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call on 020 7043 5555
