Some help through the crisis:

Take Your Phones Home

Your telephones will work wherever you are so long as they are plugged into an Internet connection.

This means that you can simply unplug your phones, take them home and they will work exactly as they do in the office. Normally there is no additional configuration necessary, but see [1] below.

For example a receptionist can be at home and still make and direct calls as usual no matter where other phones and colleagues might be. There are no additional charges for this.

Use Our Softphones

If you can't take your hardware phone home, you can use our free softphone on your PC or Smart Phone. You can get them here:

Please note: Only one device can be used with a master account or extension at any one time. If you want to use a softphone instead of your hardware telephone please switch the hardware telephone off. If you are unable to do this you can purchase a separate extension just for the softphone. This cost £1.50 per month and you can cancel it as soon as you don't need it any more.

Voipfone is a virtual company with no offices and our network is fully automated and remotely managed so we expect our service to run as normal throughout this emergency. You can see our status here.

[1] In a minority of cases, you may find that your office phone was powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet), and if you do not have a suitable router at home, you will need a separate power supply (PSU). You may also find that your phone was not configured to obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP, and that you need to set its IP address manually. Contact us if you need help.
