Start by making a list of all the phones and devices using your landline.

Don't forget that some alarms, telecare, CCTV, fax machines, even some electricity meters rely on your phone line and could cease to function unless upgraded to digital.

Check your broadband

Upgrade your equipment

We sell VoIP-compatible handsets, or you can keep using your traditional phone with a VoIP adapter. Our phones and adapters come pre-configured with your account settings, and should work straight out of the box.

Your existing router may have a VoIP adapter built in - if it does there will be a socket on the back labelled 'FXS'. If you use this, you will need to configure your router with your Voipfone account settings yourself.

Adapters generally only work with one phone (or one base station, if you are using wireless DECT handsets). If you have internal wiring for multiple phone extensions there are often ways to make it work with an adapter, but will usually require some changes at the master socket. Generally an easier solution is to replace existing phones with wireless DECT phones.

Transfer your numbers

We can transfer (port) almost any landline number onto our service, including BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin Media, as well as numbers from other VoIP providers.
