This guide covers the general settings needed to use a third-party router with
Voipfone broadband. Interfaces vary, so the configuration options on
your device may be different.
Before you start
You will need your broadband username and password, to find this information
go to the Broadband page in the control panel
and click Details next to your broadband connection.
You will find your username and password towards the bottom.
To view your password, select the view icon next to the password field.
Service
Select your connection type to get the settings you'll need for setting up your
third party router:
FTTP settings
Connect an ethernet cable from the Openreach ONT box to your router's WAN port.
Your BT Openreach ONT box will look similar to:

Go to your routers configuration page by opening a web browser and entering
http://192.168.0.1
or http://192.168.1.1.
These are the most common default router addresses, if they don't work, please refer to
your routers manual. If you receive a warning when visiting these addresses, accept the
warning.
Configure the router with these settings:
Username:
Your broadband username from the control panel

Password:
Your broadband password from the control panel
Broadband page
Connection type:
PPPoE
FTTC / SogEA settings
Connect your router's DSL port to the broadband socket on your BT Openreach
master socket (SOGEA does not require a phone line).
Your BT Openreach master socket will look something similar to:

http://192.168.0.1
or http://192.168.1.1.
